Join us at Alzheimer’s Awareness Month Open Houses this January
UPDATE: Nanaimo open house postponed
Due to extreme weather conditions, we have decided to postpone our Alzheimer’s Awareness Month open house in Nanaimo, which was originally planned for January 16. The health and safety of our supporters is of paramount importance.
While we do not have a date set yet, we plan to come together to celebrate the work done in Nanaimo – and around the province – to challenge the stigma associated with dementia and talk about how we can work together to build a province where people affected by the disease are welcomed, supported and included – a truly dementia-friendly B.C.
Stay tuned for more details!
The Alzheimer Society of B.C. is holding open houses in Nanaimo, Abbotsford and the North Shore throughout January to mark Alzheimer’s Awareness Month. Join us to challenge stigma and change the conversation about dementia!
Meet our community spokespeople for the Alzheimer’s Awareness Month campaign entitled “I live with dementia. Let me help you understand.” Help honour the outstanding volunteers who have gone above and beyond to show people affected by dementia they aren’t alone. This event is for all who want to learn more about dementia, the Alzheimer Society of B.C. and how they can support people living with dementia in their communities. Light refreshments and non-alcoholic beverages will be served.
All open houses run from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. at Alzheimer Resource Centres.

Registration for the Nanaimo Open House, postponed due to weather conditions, is now closed due to venue capacity. If you would like to be added to the waitlist, please email [email protected] with your full name and phone number. A date will be set in the coming days.
