Light IT Up Blue

Local Alzheimer Society Launches Light it Up Blue for Dementia Campaign

Belleville, December 2022 – This winter, the local Alzheimer Society of Hastings-Prince Edward (ASHPE)  is encouraging supporters and community members to shine a light on dementia. On December 5th, ASHPE launched the sale of blue light bulbs as a fundraiser for local programs and services. The light bulbs are $20 each, and are available at the Alzheimer Society’s Belleville office, located in the Bay View Mall. The office is open Mon – Fri, 8:30 am – 4:30 pm.

ASHPE has joined other local Alzheimer Societies here in Ontario in launching this fundraising and awareness campaign. Societies are asking supporters to put their blue light on display at their home or organization in advance of January: Alzheimer Awareness Month. By lighting in up blue, you are showing your support for the over 565,000 Canadians currently living with dementia.

The lightbulbs are the perfect gift for that “hard to buy for” person on your list. For a limited time, free holiday gift wrapping is available from the office. Light bulbs can be purchased using cash, cheque or credit card.
