There are 17,000 people in York Region diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease or other dementias. For every person diagnosed, another 10 to 12 people are impacted. The staff, vendors, clients and partners your organizations interacts with are the same people who turn to the Alzheimer Society of York Region (AS York). They are counting on your sponsorship to ensure AS York will be there when they need help most.
The IG Wealth Management Walk for Alzheimer’s is the Alzheimer Society of York Region’s signature fundraising event being held May 25, 2024 at Lake Wilcox Park in Richmond Hill. Hundreds of participants will gather to walk and show their support for the 17,000 plus individuals in York Region impacted by Alzheimer’s disease or other dementia.
The $100,000 fundraising goal will support critically needed services and programs for people diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease or other dementias and their caregivers. But the walk is more than just a fundraiser. After three years of virtual events, the 2024 IG Wealth Management Walk for Alzheimer’s will be in-person; an opportunity for the community to re-unite, rally and encourage families impacted by dementia.
