Host Ngozi Iroanyah, alongside Dr. Celeste Pang of Mount Royal University, will discuss the experiences of 2SLGBTQIA+ people living with dementia and their care partners.  Topics to be discussed include what’s been working and not working with regards to 2SLGBTQIA+ health, what research has said about the causes of dementia within this community, and what initiatives and programs are available to support those who identify within this community.

Hosted by Ngozi Iroanyah, Director of Health Equity and Access, Alzheimer Society of Ontario and Dr. Celeste Pang.

Dr. Celeste Pang is an anthropologist whose research, teaching, and community work focus on aging, disability, and care access and equity, with significant focus on 2SLGBTQIA+ issues. This includes projects focused on 2SLGBTQIA+ communities and long-term care, end-of-life care planning, dementia and unpaid caregiving, and intergenerational storytelling. From 2020-2023 Dr. Pang was a communitybased researcher at Egale Canada, and is currently an Assistant Professor in Women’s and Gender Studies at Mount Royal University in Calgary.
