Community Week is a series of events across the province. Join us to learn more about living well with dementia and local resources available to help.

Join us on September 19 for presentations from people in your community to learn more about living well with dementia and local resources available to help. Doors will open at 5:15 p.m. to browse tables of community resources with presentations beginning at 6:00 p.m.

Speakers:

  • Dr. Arlene Kelly-Wiggins, MD CCFP (COE), Consultant in Care of the Elderly and Geriatrics, Physician Co-Lead of the Cape Breton Geriatrics Clinic will speak about signs and symptoms of dementia and how to have the conversation with your health professional about your worries
  • Brenda Etheridge & Victoria Jessome, Behaviour Resource Consultants with Nova Scotia Health will speak about effective, supportive and positive communication techniques
  • Catherine Shepherd from the Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia will speak about what the Society has to offer in your community
