Understanding Treatments for Alzheimer’s Disease: New Advances and the Importance of Early Diagnosis
Join Dr. Jo-Anne Clarke, Medical Director at the North East Specialized Geriatric Centre, for an overview of the current treatments available for Alzheimer’s disease, including newer disease-modifying therapies (DMTs) and how they work. This webinar will explore recent advances in treatment and discuss why early diagnosis is increasingly important for accessing care and treatment options. Participants will gain practical, evidence-based information to better understand today’s evolving Alzheimer’s treatment landscape.
About the Speaker:
Dr. Jo-Anne Clarke serves as the Medical Director for the North East Geriatric Centre at HSN, and as a full-time Geriatrician. Her clinical work includes outpatient practice and inpatient consultation, telemedicine consultation, regional capacity building and clinical outreach. She is also Medical Director, Community Paramedics – LTC program for the City of Greater Sudbury and the Specialized Geriatric Services Clinical Lead, Ontario Health North East. She is the current Vice-Chair of the advisory committee of the Provincial Geriatric Leadership Office, Co-Chair of the Ontario Dementia Task Force. In 2024, she received the Order of Ontario for her work in geriatric care.
