Yukon dementia events in August 2025

Dementia education events are coming to the Yukon in August, designed to promote brain health and raise awareness of Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias.

[Carcross] Introduction to brain health and dementia communication strategies

  • Date: Monday, August 11, 2025
  • Time: 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
  • Location: Haa Shagóon Hídi - Carcross/Tagish Learning Centre, Carcross

  • Ways to maintain or improve brain health by exploring topics including risk reduction of dementia.
  • Understanding how dementia affects thinking, actions and overall experience.
  • Approaches to support cognitive and behavioural changes.

[Watson Lake] Introduction to brain health and dementia communication strategies

  • Date: Tuesday, August 12, 2025
  • Time: 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
  • Location: Senior’s Hall - Hosted by Signpost Seniors, Watson Lake
