U-First!® in-person training

Please register at least two weeks before the event so we can plan and provide food that meets your needs. If you register after this date, food may not be available, so please bring your own lunch just in case.

Host a U‑First!® workshop directly within your long‑term care home!

In‑person sessions delivered by Alzheimer Society of BC and Yukon U‑First!® facilitators at eligible sites include lunch and are funded through a BC Ministry of Health grant.

U-First!® online workshops

Please register at least two weeks before the event so we can prepare and ship your workshop materials. If you register after this date, you will receive temporary access to the workbook online, and your physical materials will be shipped to you as soon as possible.

About the workshops

All training sessions are interactive, and everyone is expected to be actively engaged throughout the session to share with and learn from each other.

Online and in-person workshops are 7 hours, including breaks.

Eligibility: Frontline staff working in publicly funded long-term care homes

Cost: FREE ($80 training fee covered through a B.C. Ministry of Health grant). Please note that staff backfill costs are not covered.

U-First!® dementia training

U-First!® is a standardized training program designed to help all members of the care team develop a common knowledge base, language and approach to caring for people with Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia.
