Yukon dementia support expansion project renewed for a three-year term

The Alzheimer Society of B.C. is pleased to announce our partnership with the Government of the Yukon to provide dementia support to the territory has been renewed and extended for three years, allowing for a continued focus on informing, educating and supporting Yukon-based community members living with dementia, their care partners and health-care providers. 

The Alzheimer Society of B.C. will continue to offer a range of vital support services, including: 

• First Link^® Yukon Dementia Helpline. 
• Online support groups. 
• In-person and online education for people living with dementia, caregivers, health-care providers and general public.  

The organization’s CEO, Jen Lyle, says, "We are grateful for the confidence the Yukon Government has shown in the Alzheimer Society of B.C. and that we will be able to continue supporting Yukoners so they do not feel alone on their dementia journey." 

Lyle also underscored the importance of partnerships established with both the Yukon Government and local community organizations. These partnerships ensure collaboration, the sharing of knowledge and resources, as well as effective outreach, leading to better engagement with people and families affected by dementia. 

The initiative will continue to be funded by the Government of Yukon and will sit alongside the Society’s work in B.C. to grow and deliver quality support and services to British Columbians.
