NVW2021: Sparking a movement through the IG Wealth Management Walk for Alzheimer's

Walk-NVW

This National Volunteer Week, we are showcasing some of the integral roles volunteers play in our organization. From April 18 – 24, 2021, follow @AlzheimerBC on social media to learn more about these roles and help us recognize our incredible volunteers.

Volunteers are the heart and soul of the Alzheimer Society of B.C.’s flagship fundraiser, the IG Wealth Management Walk for Alzheimer’s. More than 20 community-based volunteer committees work in their local areas across the province to promote, fundraise and build awareness of the event and our cause. We are so grateful for their support.

Our volunteer committees have a tremendous impact on the work we do here at the Society. They help ensure we achieve our fundraising goals each year for the Walk, which supports the programs and services available in communities throughout the province.

A recent accomplishment of our volunteer committees was the execution of the first-ever online IG Wealth Management Walk for Alzheimer’s. Their ability to pivot along with the Society last year when COVID-19 hit in March to launch an almost entirely new, online event in May was incredible.

Our committees are now in year two of planning and supporting our second IG Wealth Management Walk for Alzheimer’s online. We’re full steam ahead and looking forward to seeing their creative approach to engaging local communities and event participants to reach our collective fundraising goals.

To all of our committee members, thank you for your patience, flexibility, creativity and unwavering passion and enthusiasm for supporting our cause.
