The Charity Dinner for Alzheimer’s started in 2018 to raise awareness and funds for the growing need for dementia support and education in the Chinese community. In 2019, the event’s second year, more than 450 guests and community leaders came together and helped raise more than $161,000.

After four years of hiatus due to the pandemic, we are excited to bring back the in-person Charity Dinner taking place on Sunday, February 25, 2024 at the Continental Seafood Restaurant in Richmond. The event aims to raise funds to support the Alzheimer Society of B.C. to provide education, information and support to people living with dementia and their families, as well as fund dementia research.

In B.C., there are more than 85,000 people living with dementia. In the next 30 years, the number of people living with the disease will increase dramatically to more than 245,000 people.

Although there is no cure for dementia, we can take action to improve brain health and reduce the risks of dementia. One way is by adopting a healthy diet. Inspired by recipes from award-winning celebrity chef, Mrs. Bernice Taam, the menu for the evening will be healthy and delicious!

The silent auction is a favourite part of the evening among our guests, featuring many unique and sought-after items. Every bid is a step toward helping community members affected by dementia.

Alongside the healthy cuisine and silent auction, get ready for a fun trivia game where guests can test their knowledge while learning new information about dementia.

Resources provided by the Alzheimer Society of B.C., including education, programs and support services will be highlighted to help guests understand the impact these programs and services bring to the community.

The Charity Dinner offers VIP tables and regular tables, and individual tickets:

  • $1,300 per VIP table of 10.
  • $980 per regular table of 10.
  • Individual tickets are available at $138 (VIP) and $108 (regular).

Thanks to “Friends of the Society” – a group of generous, anonymous donors – all donations made by February 25, 2024 will be matched up to a maximum total donation of $60,000. This means your impact will be doubled!
