Alzheimer Society of B.C. launches powerful holiday campaign

British Columbia

Our 2023 giving campaign shares a message of courage by showcasing the stories of people affected by dementia.

Mollie and Gordon

We’re thrilled to announce the launch of our 2023 holiday giving campaign and an opportunity to have twice the impact supporting people affected by dementia across the province. From now through the end of the year, Friends of the Society, a group of dedicated donors, are matching all donations up to $65,000!

Although dementia is a disease with no survivor stories, we have incredible stories of hope and the celebration of life in the little moments in between. The campaign tagline – 0% Cure, 100% Courage –  speaks to the hope and resilience of people living with dementia and their families and friends.

Throughout the campaign, we will be sharing stories of real people with lived experience, along with beautiful portraits across our social media channels. This year, Mollie and Gordon Williams will be featured along with some familiar faces from last year’s campaign.

For years following Gordon’s dementia diagnosis, his wife Mollie devoted herself to planning activities so he could continue living a meaningful life. Like so many caregivers, she was focused on what was best for Gordon but not her own health. Encouraged by her friends, Mollie sought support and discovered the Alzheimer Society of B.C. Our programs became a lifeline, offering not only valuable information but also a network of understanding people who shared their experiences.

“Attending their workshops and caregiver support groups saved my bacon,” Mollie says.
